Accommodation

The host country is honored to offer the hospitality rule 1+2 (Head of Delegation/ Minister plus two additional delegates) to all GECF Members and Observer Countries from 20-24 October, or starting from their date of arrival at the Sheraton Grand Doha.

Hospitality includes accommodation and transportation. It does not include air tickets.

Please note that additional charges may apply for any extra accommodation beyond the hospitality rule, subject to registration.

Accommodation

Each delegation is assigned two vehicles for transportation: one for the Head of the Delegation and one for the remaining delegates.

Protocol

During the visit, all delegations will have the support of an assigned liaison officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Meet and Greet

All delegates will be provided with a meet and greet service upon arrival and departure and protocol liaison services during their stay in Qatar.

Transportation

Each delegation is assigned two vehicles for transportation: one for the head of delegation and one for the remaining delegates.

Departure arrangements will be coordinated by your assigned Liaison Officer from MOFA.

Interpretation

Electricity

The standard voltage is 240 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. Plug points are the same as in the United Kingdom (type D and G). To use electric appliances made for the range of 100 V - 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), one needs a voltage converter or a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter.

Weather

Qatar features a hot desert climate. By late October, the country begins its transition into the cooler season. Daytime temperatures range from 33°C to 36°C, while evenings drop to a more pleasant 24°C. Although the heat is still noticeable, the humidity starts to ease, making outdoor activities more comfortable. October is generally dry, with rainfall averaging just 1–3 mm for the month. The skies remain mostly clear or partly cloudy, and sunshine dominates the daytime hours.
